Eric Vandegrift is a security operations engineer with CyZen. In this role he deploys and installs security systems that monitor digital infrastructure, designs processes to integrate security data into security event management software and develops rules, models and dashboards that enable internal and external risk reporting. Prior to assuming his current role, Eric served CyZen as a security operations center analyst, monitoring, investigating and responding to security events, and as a data science intern analyzing available data on cybercrime and developing internal tools.
Eric’s technical skills have been tested and developed through his participation in a number of cybersecurity-focused competitions and seminars, including the South Eastern Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition Regional, Palmetto Digital Forensics Competition, Wicked6 Finals, and DEF CON security conference. Eric holds an Associate of Science degree from the New England Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
In his free time, Eric grows and maintains bonsai trees, practices and teaches programming, demonstrates ethical hacking concepts, and leverages his machine learning skills and passion for sports to compete in fantasy leagues.
